UPDATE The first Café of the season on May 31 was so wildly successful that the Hayward Family SOLD OUT of their delicious golden, crispy Smoked Chicken and Sides Complete Dinner (chicken, potato salad, 3-bean salad, dinner roll, and choice of desert) before 5 PM!
Sincere apologies to everyone who came to the market hoping for dinner only to be disappointed :-(
We will work with Café vendors to ensure that there is sufficient food for everyone, but please remember this is a local effort, run by community members who invest their own money in the purchase, prep, and cooking of the meal. It's always hard to gauge response to an outdoor event that could end up taking place in a torrential downpour - when no one will come!
We were missing some regular vendors, due to family obligations (graduation parties and the like), but we were joined by the always popular ARTS BUS from Randolph and the Chelsea Public Library's regular activities table for kids.
The Musical Program was both sweet and exciting!
First off was a Chelsea Public School Recital attended by the supportive families of the youthful performers. As one vendor remarked, "it always brings a tear to the eye to see the kids perform."
Once the kiddos had finished - to rapturous applause - their teacher, Nancy Taube, moved into performer mode with her band, Jazz Tweed. This super-talented trio had the market rockin' until closing time! CFM LOVED you guys!
